Bi-layer tablets are a subset of Lipa’s core tableting capabilities but it is an unique and exacting innovative dosage format that combines two separate and accurately dosed parts into the one tablet. This capability offers several distinct advantages over single layer tablets with the ability to: - Separate actives that are incompatible when mixed in a single dosage unit therefore improving quality and long term stability. - Formulate with two distinct and different time release profiles in one dosage form thus potentially providing an immediate release and a sustained release tablet portion to ensure an optimized therapeutic benefit from all the actives incorporated in the overall tablet matrix.
